Founded in 1976, The G.R. Plume Company is a privately
held architectural millwork firm. Our philosophy is
simple—to provide the customer with the highest
quality timber products and technical solutions,
matched with unparalleled personalized attention to
detail. Our projects employ top-quality architectural
timbers—timbers that are not merely structurally
sound, beautiful, and reflective of the customer’s
overall vision, but demonstrate timeless appeal as
well.
Our clients include architectural firms such as HOK
Architects, St. Louis; Robert A.M. Stern, New York
City; Urban Design Group, Denver; The Office of
Thierry Despont, Ltd., New York City; NBBJ Architects,
Seattle; and Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, Wilkes-Barre.
Gordon D. Plume is the President and
Founder of the G.R. Plume Company. He has devoted
over 40 years toward advancing his technical
knowledge and his artistic talents in heavy timber
construction. An accomplished craftsman, he is a
true artisan of the vast array of building
mediums: stone, timber, metal, concrete, and
glass, just to name a few. Gordon has provided
expertise in the building of numerous private
homes, from cabins to estates, and applied his
knowledge to a multitude commercial projects.
Multi-talented, he carves and sculpts both wood
and stone for his personal enjoyment.
